I'd been collecting scans of late-1960s NASA mission posters all spring — the ones with the warm burgundy and that specific mustard yellow you can't quite mix from scratch — and the sloth astronaut showed up uninvited on a CRT in the corner of one of them. The first version had the moon-walker front and center; he was too on-the-nose and I moved him to a monitor, which felt truer to how anyone actually watches history happen.
