Tales of Slowness

The sloth is wearing a star-pattern bathrobe. The capybara is wearing tiny round spectacles. They are watching the flying spaghetti monster on a tube TV with rabbit-ear antennae, which is what's on tonight, apparently. There's a bowl of walnuts on the floor. A lantern is doing the lighting because nobody got up to flip the switch. Tales of Slowness is on the side table — the sloth meant to read it after dinner and instead they put on the TV, which is also a kind of reading if you think about it generously. Nobody is talking. Nobody needs to. This is the part of the evening where you've already said the things and now you're just sharing the air. The capybara has been here since seven.
